What the standard is
ISO 9001:2015 — Quality management systems – Requirements
ISO 9001:2015 sets out the requirements for a quality management system. The requirements are generic and can be adopted by any type of organisation, regardless of size or sector.
ISO 9001 is the reference standard for organisations that want to keep their processes under cyclical control, from defining customer requirements, stated and implied, through to monitoring the whole production or service delivery process.
Customers and their satisfaction are at the heart of the standard: every activity and every process check aims at consistently delivering conforming products and services. The standard is built on the process approach, risk-based thinking and continual improvement.
ISO 9001 certification is voluntary, but it is often required or rewarded in public tenders and supplier qualification, and is therefore also a business development opportunity.
Availability and accredited scope for each standard and sector are confirmed in the offer.
