ISO 22000:2018

Certification ISO 22000 – Food safety

Controlling hazards along the food chain.

What the standard is

ISO 22000:2018 — Food safety management systems – Requirements for any organization in the food chain

ISO 22000:2018 sets out the requirements of food safety management systems for any organisation in the food chain and is applied on a voluntary basis by food sector operators.

It was published to harmonise existing national and international food safety and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards. It is based on the HACCP principles of the Codex Alimentarius and aligned with the structure of other ISO management system standards.

It can be adopted by all operators in the food chain, whether directly involved in food production or indirectly (for example packaging manufacturers, cleaning and pest control services). Each link is responsible for its own application: the standard does not certify the whole chain. Although not mandatory, it is a reference for applying EU food hygiene and safety legislation.

Availability and accredited scope for each standard and sector are confirmed in the offer.
