ISO 14001:2015

Certification ISO 14001 – Environment

Managing environmental aspects and compliance obligations.

What the standard is

ISO 14001:2015 — Environmental management systems – Requirements with guidance for use

ISO 14001:2015 sets out the requirements of an environmental management system (EMS) for any organisation and belongs to the ISO 14000 family. It can be used for certification or as guidance to establish, implement and improve an environmental management system.

ISO 14001 certification does not attest a particular environmental performance or a particularly low impact: it shows that the organisation has an adequate management system to keep the environmental impacts of its activities under control, meet compliance obligations and systematically seek improvement.

It is not a product certification. The requirements are generic, applicable to any organisation, and follow the Plan-Do-Check-Act continual improvement cycle with a life-cycle perspective.

Availability and accredited scope for each standard and sector are confirmed in the offer.

Frequently asked questions

Is an initial environmental review needed?+

The standard requires you to determine environmental aspects and compliance obligations; an initial review is the most common way to do so.

Can it be integrated with ISO 9001?+

Yes. The standards share the same structure and can be assessed through integrated audits.

Does certification prove compliance with all laws?+

No. The audit verifies that the system manages compliance obligations; it does not replace checks by authorities.
